Self-Reflection Creates Self-Empowerment

Self-reflection in western society is often ridiculed and laughed at. Many people refer to self-reflection as ‘Contemplating your navel.’ Those who go against this ridicule are inspired to forge ahead on a personal journey of emotional and spiritual development.

Given enough time everyone will become aware that what they reflect on has a direct consequence in their lives. Unfortunately, few people are guided to do Self-Reflection and are bombarded from an early age by what they ‘should’ do. The result is that what they sometimes say they believe (their indoctrination) obscures what they truly believe.

The biggest dilemma of existence is deciding what to believe. Entire lifetimes are spent side-stepping this decision. The majority of people are already deeply patterned and indoctrinated by the time they realize that deciding for oneself is an option Deciding is fundamental to creating.

When you look inward, you will recognize how your behaviors and thoughts have propelled you to where you are today. This self-reflection and subsequent self-awareness motivates one to continue bringing forth those attributes and abilities, thus, you can put them into action. Not only have these attributes and abilities contributed to your ability to move forward in life, but they have contributed to your happiness and well-being in mind, body and spirit.

Consider allowing yourself time to look inward every day to notice any behaviors or beliefs that continue to support your desires and purpose. You can learn to consciously apply them to your life. The answers to all your questions lie within. All you need to do is: Look, Listen and Trust.

With self-reflection you will appreciate how these behaviors and beliefs have shaped your identity. When you are perceptive and in tune with yourself and your life or the goings-on in the world you feel empowered. When you practice self-reflection, you will receive a wealth of inspirational insights. You will draw to you that which will help you to grow in your life, and in both your personal and professional relationships.

Learning about who you truly are does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain its opportunities to learn. As long as you are alive there are opportunities to grow emotionally and spiritually.

What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours. What will you choose?
