American Heart Health and Wellness Month

You know the statistics. Heart disease is reported as the leading cause of death in the U.S. Nearly a million Americans suffer a heart attack each year. Research reveals the facts and figures. The do’s and don’ts are touted by the American Medical Association, American Pharmaceutical Association, American Heart Association and many other sources.

The one factor, in the Western Medicine protocol a.ka. Allopathic medical genre, that is rarely considered is the psychological, spiritual and interpersonal effects of the symptoms—heart attack—called a disease by the aforementioned organizations. From a purely metaphysical perspective a heart attack is a message that all the joy has been squeezed out of the heart in favor of ego endeavors. In addition, heart attacks are created by longstanding emotional problems; lack of joy; and hardening of the heart. Last, but not least, a belief in strain and stress.

There is a more effective protocol to create health and wellness versus treating symptoms and fighting disease. A holistic approach—a.k.a. Alternative lifestyle.

The holistic approach emphasizes the body’s inherent self-healing ability. This is a clear divergence from conventional medicine—a.k.a. Traditional Western Medicine (TWM) or Allopathic Medicine, which focuses on managing sickness and treating symptoms.

It is stunning that nearly two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese, tens of millions are afflicted with high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, anxiety, panic attacks and the list goes on.

Seventy percent of Americans have stress related symptoms (which leads to heart disease, depression, etc). Our fast-paced, high stress, ‘lifestyle’ contributes to chronic illness and an intense focus on sickness management.

The result is that, while the U.S. spends far more per capita on health care than any other country, the U.S. ranks 37th in health care efficiency and effectiveness. World Health Organization (WHO)

Chinese have some of the lowest rates of heart disease (less than a third of the US), despite very high rates of smoking (men 62%).  However, because of the size of the population, 2 million heart attacks occur annually (compared to 7 million strokes).

Tracy Gaudet, MD, director of patient-centered care at the Veterans Health Administration, describes Naturopathic protocols as a ‘huge’ answer for the U.S. at a pivotal transformational moment’ in health care. In an institutionalized era when prescribing drugs or performing surgery is a reflex action from the majority of doctors—and patients themselves see drugs or surgery as the way to achieve a ‘quick fix’ to banish symptoms forever, yet, this mind-set is counter to the reality of Western Medicine’s poor performance. The World Health Organization reports that one (1) in ten (10) U.S. women die of breast cancer each year; while only one (1) in ten thousand (10,000) Chinese women die of breast cancer each year.

Naturopathic and Homeopathic protocols have been around since the beginning of humans on this planet. The protocols have evolved as health issues of humans have changed. Today 4,400 Naturopathic Doctors hold a license in 17 states, the District of Columbia, and the United States territories of Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.

Naturopathic and Homeopathic doctors use a range of non-invasive protocols such as: oriental medicine, botanical medicine, mind, body and spirit metaphysical transformation, holistic nutrition, etc.

Holistic Health Care highlights the causes of illness and focuses on developing a protocol to transform the mind, body and spirit to its natural state of health and wellness. Holistic Health Care focuses on the cause and effect of every symptom. For every effect (symptom) in your life, there is a thought pattern that precedes and maintains it. A consistent thinking pattern creates your experiences. Therefore, by changing your thinking patterns, you can change your experiences, including the dis-ease (symptoms) you experience. The mental thought patterns which cause the most dis-ease (symptoms) in the mind, body and spirit are Criticism, Resentment, Anger, Shame and Guilt.

The symptoms of chronic illness and the cost to treat them with Traditional Western Medicine is spiraling higher and higher. It is critical to realize that die-ease causing thoughts are the root cause of illness and therefore, a holistic approach is the most effective to resolve them.

Forty (40) percent of Americans are currently taking greater control of their health by using holistic protocols. Within this forty (40) percent is, albeit small, a growing number of people, who are seeking holistic health care protocols exclusively.

On September 10, 2013, the U.S. Senate unanimously approved a resolution that establishes October 7 – 13 as Naturopathic Medicine Week. Congress, thereby, recognized the ability of Naturopathic physicians to, “provide safe, effective and affordable health care,” and urged Americans to learn more about the highly effective holistic protocols.

Health and wellness is a birthright—now you can claim yours. ###
