Are Your Beliefs About Abundance Blocking Your Spiritual Rights?
The pious and maybe even self-righteous perspective that one cannot obtain enlightenment and have abundance simultaneously continues to entangle spiritual seekers world wide. It is perplexing when one considers this toxic idea that if a person is spiritual they cannot also be prosperous. How exactly does one obtain spiritual enlightenment without overcoming limited thinking that binds and diminishes? The belief that enlightenment and abundance are polar opposites binds and diminishes.
Spiritual transformation includes many realizations, acceptances, and integration of one’s pure potentiality; the assimilation of oneself with the limitless, all-providing Source, Supplier, Creator, Higher Self, G-O-D or whatever name you apply. Thus, unlimited beliefs include unlimited resources; unlimited resources is another term for prosperity and abundance.
Is one unspiritual if one engages in unlimited Joy? Is one unspiritual if one has unlimited Health?
Does having unlimited physical energy and joyously accepting this Vitality cause one to be unspiritual? What would be acceptable to embrace Divine Health, but deny Divine Prosperity? Both Health and Prosperity are elements of the Presence of God (gifts from the Divine).
From a spiritual perspective, conscious creation and spiritual students have fought this battle long enough. You deserve to fulfill your highest potential in all aspects of your life. The idea that prosperity and enlightenment, or prosperity and higher consciousness do not mix has caused innumerable fissures in people’s capacity to transform and truly embrace their true identity, as whole, unlimited, pure-potential beings. This is a great fracture within that suggests humans need to renounce all worldly possessions if one is to live an enlightened life.
What if you knew that denying your spiritual right to have prosperity is the sole reason you feel disconnected from the Divine? What if you knew that denying your spiritual right to prosperity is the reason you feel less than or unworthy? What if you knew that prosperity is not only your right, but what the Source, Creator, God has already given you and you are forsaking?
The problem is a lack of understanding of the principles of abundance. It is a massive misjudgment about what is ‘good’ and what is ‘evil.’ Misjudgment about abundance is in the form of Common Negative Beliefs, Identity/Self-Esteem Beliefs, Value Beliefs. I have chosen to illuminate the five most common limiting beliefs about abundance in each category.
Common Negative Beliefs:
• Filthy rich – Money is filthy and dirty
• Money is in short supply
• Money goes out faster than it comes in
• People who have wealth cheated to get it
• Rich people are seldom happy
Identity/Self-Esteem Beliefs:
• Not good enough/worthy – don’t deserve abundance
• I cannot handle or manage money well
• I am a loser – losers don’t have abundance
• People with money are stuck up
• My parents were poor and I will be poor
Value Beliefs: These are beliefs you hold about your life and your experience of it.
• I prefer to dream small so I am not pressured
• I would not be happy if I was rich
• Some people are just lucky – I am not lucky
• Everything I touch is a disaster.
• Only dreamers think they can have abundance, I am a realist
When you look around you might realize you enjoy certain comforts of a materialistic nature. If you enjoy these materialistic comforts does that mean you are unspiritual because you enjoy the comforts and even the lavishness of abundance?
On the other hand, you can have abundance and remain non-materialistic or non-obsessive with the acquisitions of abundance. Warren Buffet, the second wealthiest man in the world (Net worth $50 billion, reported Jan 1, 2011), still lives in the first house he bought for $31,500 in 1958, and, he enjoys many materialistic pursuits. Such as: traveling the world for bridge tournaments and other activities.
The point is about the flow of the all-providing, ever-expanding supply and the acknowledgement of the Divine in all things where prosperity is experienced. It is not about the ‘things’ you possess but how you embrace your Divine nature either conscious or unconscious.
When money and the obtainment of prosperity controls you, causes you to gauge your worthiness by your material possession, then you lose to the real enemy – the limiting belief that you are separate from the Divine. If you are afraid that you will be unspiritual if you pursue abundance, then you are saying, “I am limited and I am afraid I do not have the capacity to attain abundance.” If you are angry that a spiritual healer would charge for their services, what you are most likely feeling is “Why is it that they can pursue their heart’s calling and I am not?” If you resent a company for prospering, what you are probably resenting is, “What do they possess that I don’t?”
Each limiting idea is based on your core, dysfunctional belief that you are unworthy, that you are broken and defective and limited. And that is the core of unspiritual – the denial of your innate intelligence, your innate worth, that you are broken, defective and limited. If you are concerned about and desire to change your limiting abundance beliefs, you can find helpful resources.
