Are Your Beliefs Preventing You From Achieving Your Goals?

Are Your Beliefs Preventing You From Achieving Your Goals?

How long is long enough or how long is a ‘fair’ amount of time to invest in your future, your career success or other major pursuits before you can expect to be successful?

Pause for a minute and think about this. Your answer may make the difference between your accelerated success or years of struggle. There are two major misconceptions about success.

1. Success only is success when one has reached the declared goal – becoming President/Vice President, making a six figure income, etc.
2. With every success there is a difficult struggle. There are a certain number of years working hard before you can expect to be successful.

Most people are indoctrinated, conditioned and misinformed about life and success. Thus, your unconscious mind has decided to accept these indoctrinations, conditioning and misinformation as FACT.

The truth is you have many successes every day – albeit they are steps to the desired goal; the six figure income, being Vice President, etc. Yet, they are successes none-the-less. When you accept that each step you take toward your desired goals is success, you are accelerating the process.

If you are unable to fully embrace that success is merely a series of completed steps and tasks and cling to the belief that success is hard won, you might want to consider seeking assistance to release these false beliefs, mental blocks and set yourself free to attain your success on your own terms.

This exercise will assist you in determining if you have beliefs and blocks that hampers your success.

• Write five beliefs about success.

• Write five beliefs about money.

• Write five beliefs about yourself

After each belief you wrote, note whether you experience the belief as: Helpful (H) or Impeding (I). Then, note whether the belief is a belief you created deliberately (D) or it was the result of indoctrination (IND).

The best scenario for each belief is: HD.
The least effective scenario for each belief is: I-IND.
The lesser scenario for each belief is: ID.

With I-IND or ID scenarios you might need professional intervention to make a thorough and expedient shift to HD to achieve your goals more effectively. There is no shame in asking for professional assistance. The majority of successful people have mentors, coaches and/or the assistance of professionals behind the scenes.

When you move away from being the source of your beliefs, your past takes over as the source of your beliefs. When you move toward being the source of your beliefs, your past no longer impedes your success.

For a long time people have weighed evidence, analyzed, and measured beliefs to answer, “What should I believe?” It’s now clear this was the wrong question. The right questions is: “What do I want to believe? ###
