Faith – A Lifestyle

What better way is there to reinforce the concept of Faith, than on a t-shirt with the words, “Faith is a lifestyle?” The concept of ‘Faith,’ as a lifestyle might seem over the top. Yet, in order for faith to be effective; it needs to be a full-time proposition. Faith as a lifestyle means that daily practice of one’s faith towards all things that are good, helpful, hopeful, and that are life-giving needs to be continuous versus when one is in a tight spot or desperate.

Faith is equally distributed to everyone. No one has more than anyone else. Yet, some people use theirs more than others. People who use their faith more than others, do so, because they know that nothing is a sometimes activity. It is an all or less than what you deserve proposition. Faith is analogous to being pregnant; women are either pregnant or not; there is no in between.

Many people believe that the chief challenges in practicing faith are disbelief and doubt, but the biggest stumbling block is resistance to trusting one’s Higher Self [God] or a cynical heart. The Higher Self is the true and total person. The hardened heart is closed to the sacredness of the Higher Self. It is similar to eyes, which do not see and ears that can not hear.

You can put your belief in ambiguity, negativity or pessimism, or you can put your belief in creating what you desire. Faith is a concept that only creates, there is no ambiguity, negativity or pessimism. Dabbling in ambiguity, negativity or pessimism is flirting or daring the odds with minimal success or out right failure.

In the broad scope of practicing faith, you can see faith not as something you have, but as something you are in with and between your two selves; your ego self and your Higher/Spiritual Self. Faith involves an awareness of and an attunement to the Higher Self, a.k.a. God’s presence in your everyday existence.

Practicing faith, then, is similar to the process of developing any relationship. You need to give it time and attention. Faith requires you to see, hear, feel and consistently remember your partner; your Higher Self [God]. Like any relationship, you need to have confidence in the relationship’s viability, albeit you are facing ambiguity, doubts and paradoxes. Trust in yourself in this faith to the nth degree of staking your life in it. Practicing faith demonstrates believing in yourself and all possibilities.

Exercising faith is a habit that chooses what matters and will generate creativity, happiness, peace of mind and satisfaction in one’s abilities.
