How To Create A Successful Day

Do you focus at least once a day and think about what’s going well?  The majority of people  have a tendency to focus on what’s going wrong, what they haven’t gotten done or what mistakes they made. This phenomenon is rooted in generational habits and parenting styles. We learn how to show up in life by our parents’ style and our experiences.

It’s as if focusing on the negative that’s transpiring will somehow change our circumstances. The majority of people are guilty of going into that trap. I occasionally wander into that lament when things aren’t transpiring as fast as I desire them to.  Does that ring true for you?

We would do ourselves (and those we are complaining to) a favor by focusing on our wins.  I have taught this concept in many corporations about how to change one’s personal and professional life by focusing on wins.  If there is a short line at the coffee shop, that is a win.  If I hit a green light, I say, “Thank you green light and traffic”, it is a win. I say, “I’m on a winning streak!”

I often hear people lament they are having a bad day and it is 8:30 a.m.  How can you have a bad day when it is 8:30 a.m. It doesn’t make any difference if six things were off track already….it is only 8:30 and the rest of the day can go smoothly. I mean that sincerely.  The old cliché: “Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and have a good day” in spite of the prior glitches has a poignant meaning. Focusing on what you desire draws in more of the same. Likewise, focusing on what you don’t desire draws in more of the same. What goes around comes around. Law of Attraction. Like energy draws in like energy. Negative energy draws in negative energy–“I’m having a bad day.”  Positive energy, draws in positive energy–“I’m on a winning streak.”

I say it with as much enthusiasm as I can and it makes a difference in my life.  Think of it as a secret game or weapon if you need to reinforce the concept and see if it makes a difference in your outlook and experiences.

If you or someone you know could benefit from making the transition from negative to positive thinking I am available for consultations.

Enjoy your life, no matter what time it is.
